More about Near Field Communication (NFC)
Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range, wireless connectivity standard that enables contactless communication and data exchange between compatible devices held in close proximity. A subset of Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, NFC operates on a base transmission frequency of 13.56 MHz and offers secure data transmission within a distance of approximately 10 centimeters.
Covering all NFC application needs, atlasRFIDstore offers a comprehensive range of NFC products including NFC tags and NFC readers. NFC enabled devices are considered either active or passive. Active NFC devices, such as smartphones, can both send and receive information. These devices can communicate with each other as well as with other passive devices. Passive NFC devices, such as tags, have no power source of their own and are only capable of sending information to other NFC devices.
Even though NFC operation is limited to communication at close proximity, there are a number of NFC applications that provide significant value and convenience for users. NFC devices are an ideal solution for applications including but not limited to access control, consumer electronics, transport, payments, healthcare, information collection, information exchange, coupons, and ticketing.
