Description
Kathrein RRU4 Series UHF RFID Reader
Kathrein RRU4 Series UHF RFID Reader
The Kathrein RRU4 Series UHF RFID Reader is a unit with an Ethernet communication interface and © KRAI for use in the frequency range from 865 to 868 MHz and 902 to 928 MHz for the EPC Gen2 standard (ISO 18000-6C). With the Linux running on the embedded PC based on the Q7 standard, powerful computing power is available. The user can set up and run his own complex applications. Thus, the device is ideal for applications with time-critical filters in high to very-high tag populations.

What is Kathrein RFID Antenna Interface (© KRAI)?
The Kathrein © KRAI system includes proprietary Kathrein readers and antennas that allow for the use of up to 4 antennas simultaneously in any combination with a Kathrein © KRAI enabled RFID reader. Kathrein © KRAI Smart Shelf Antennas have two ports to allow for the chaining of antennas together. A maximum of 8 Smart Shelf Antennas can be cascaded at a single antenna port allowing for selective access to up to 32 individual antennas and the reading result to be linked to the antenna recognition and be output. This functionality is great for smart shelf deployments, or any application that requires a large number of antennas.
The phase control elements integrated into the Kathrein Wide Range 70° © KRAI Antenna enables static or dynamic adjustments of antenna characteristics. Due to this, four different polarizations can be selected: RHCP, LHCP, horizontal linear, and vertical linear. One can choose between static polarization and automatic switch-over. Using this combination, it is possible to automatically control a large number of extended functions in an entire RFID system.
NOTE: Kathrein Wide Range 70° Antennas cannot be cascaded. Kathrein © KRAI Antennas can be operated ONLY in conjunction with © KRAI enabled readers.
